    Mr. Appel has worked in affordable housing development for over 30 years. He is one of the founders of Avalon Housing, a pioneer in permanent supportive housing in Ann Arbor, MI. Previously, he served as Executive Director and Senior Developer at Avalon Housing.

    Ms. Roland joined the DDI team as a native Detroiter with a focus on single-family development. She has a strong background in real estate sales, property management, and property development. She’s been in real estate so long she jokes that she was “born on a deed.”

    Mr. Pipitone has over 35 years of experience in residential and commercial construction industries. He has a diverse background in construction management, project management, operations, and field supervision.

    Mr. Brandvain, a Metro Detroit native, has years of multi-family and mixed-use development experience, and is the lead project manager for the Detroit Food Commons project. Prior to joining the DDI team, he served as an Assistant City Planner for the City of Birmingham, MI.
